Dear Partners,
Su and I crisscrossed Nepal for 71 days interviewing 200 of our team members one by one to evaluate their productivity and progress. We have given them guidance to accelerate their ministries. As a result their numbers of salvations and baptisms have increased dramatically!
We also completed a series of three- day intensive training conferences for clusters of all 24 teams. They will in turn conduct similar training programs in their own cities over the coming months, resulting in thousands of Christians becoming effective disciple makers.
Through these processes we have developed stronger relationships with team members and they have learned how to multiply gospel workers faster for God’s kingdom. As Jesus said, “The harvest is great but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send more workers into His fields.” (Matthew 9:37-38).
In 2 Corinthians 11:26 Paul stated, “I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not.” Su, I, and the RUN Global teams have also been threatened by men who wear the Christian label, but act more like gangsters than pastors.
I know it is hard to believe, but in parts of South Asia, anyone can ascribe to himself the title “Pastor” or even “Apostle”. Some of them control geographical territory and make it extremely difficult for our team members to plant new churches.
One so-called pastor has even made threats of violence toward some of our team members, threatening to beat and even kill them with his khukuri (small sword). But they are brave and courageous. One sister who was threatened repeatedly has told me twice that she is ready to die for Christ and His cause. Three of our leaders escaped in the wee hours of the morning from a situation where they felt they were in grave danger.
We need your prayers! We are taking ground for our Lord Jesus, but every inch is a battle. My prayer is that by the end of 2023 we will reach two million people and have 1500 churches up and running.
Indigenous candidates are waiting in line to be interviewed to join our teams. We need funding to bring them on. Please consider giving a special gift to help us deploy more gospel workers.
Your partners,
Mike and Su Keator
